![]() ![]() According to Lee Rambler, URC’s director of sales, Total Control is ideal for deployments with unique customization. URC’s Total Control was another major component of the Time Machine Experience. The full list of equipment included the following: They also have provided us with a sales engineer who has spent many hours helping bring this amazing display to completion.” Shea added, “URC provided major components that made the final product an amazing, automated display which will be shared with many “Back to The Future” fans. All this automation is triggered by sensors and custom programming provided by Wavelength AV and URC. In that opening scene, Doc’s radio turns on, his coffee pot starts brewing, the television turns on, toast is browned and dog food is dispensed. It also provides an exact recreation of the opening scene. The immersive experience recaptures the workshop of the central character Dr. Shea consulted Wavelength Audio Video (Wavelength AV) and URC for the Time Machine Experience. Development of the Time Machine Experience In the film, the DeLorean sports car was retrofitted with a flux capacitor to make it a time machine. After paying a local installer $350 previously to program a URC remote for me, and being really disappointed with the terrible job he did, I've insisted on being given the software for any URC device I purchase and programming it myself.Bill Shea, a collector and car enthusiast from Massachusetts, recently developed the “ 88 MPH Time Machine Experience.” Based on “Back to the Future” (1985), the installation features some parts of the actual DeLorean vehicle from the film. So I'd just pay them the $25 for the software and program it yourself. If you bought it from a local installer, they would probably want to program it for you also (larger profit center) and most seem to charge upwards of $150/hr for that. Paying $25 for the software isn't that bad of a deal though if you were planning on programming it yourself anyways. So currently I have a paper weight for my coffee table. I asked how they could charge for a program that they didn't own and should have stated in the ad that it was required to make the device work. ![]() They said they would email me the link once I paid the $25. When asked about the software to program it they told me it would be an additional $25. Interesting news: I purchased an MX-890 from EBay that stated they were an authorized dealer for URC. ![]()
